Joe Navarro: Simon & Schuster Speakers Bureau

Joe Navarro

Leading Expert on Nonverbal Communications and Best-Selling Author

Not many people can say they were personally approached to join the FBI, but this is exactly what happened to Joe Navarro while he was working as a police officer at the tender age of 23. He accepted their offer and became one of the youngest agents ever to join the renowned investigative agency.

Navarro spent the next 25 years at the FBI, working both as an agent and supervisor in the areas of counterintelligence and counterterrorism. Through his work he was able to study, refine and apply the science of nonverbal communications. His acumen in this field and his success as a spy-catcher led Joe to begin training FBI agents and the intelligence community.

Retiring from the FBI in 2003, and meeting overwhelming demand for his notable insights into human behavior, Joe has dedicated himself to speaking and consulting with major corporations worldwide. Today, he is recognized as one of the world’s foremost authorities on reading nonverbal communications and is regularly interviewed on programs such as NBC’s TODAY, Fox News, ABC’s Good Morning America, CBS This Morning, and for publications such as The Washington Post and Psychology Today.

Joe’s wit and dynamic presentation style have made him an instant hit with his audiences, including C-suite executives, senior leaders and managers. He is often rated the #1 speaker at conferences and has spoken at the Harvard Business School for the past eight years. Jack Canfield, author of Chicken Soup for the Soul, called Joe “a world-class observer” and David Givens praised him as “a master of reading nonverbals.”

Navarro has published 12 books, including the international best seller What Every BODY Is Saying. George Clooney and Grant Heslov’s Smokehouse Pictures production company has acquired the film rights to Joe’s upcoming book, Three Minutes to Doomsday, which recounts how Joe used nonverbal communications to ultimately uncover the most dangerous security breach in U.S. history. The book is due for publication in April 2017.
