Lyssa Chapman

Reality TV Star, Former Bounty Hunter, Inspirational Supporter for Troubled Youth

Since Season Two of cable station A&E’s internationally syndicated television show Dog the Bounty Hunter, Baby Lyssa Chapman was a regular cast member. For the past six years, Chapman, once the youngest licensed bounty hunter in the state of Hawaii, was welcomed into the homes of the show’s millions of viewers. Internationally, the show is seen in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Italy, Norway, Sweden, etcetera––all in all the show airs in more than twenty foreign countries.

Chapman maintains an active online presence registering a whopping 165,000+ Twitter followers and more than 13,000 “friends” on Facebook. Chapman tweets numerous times throughout the day and updates her Facebook status regularly. She also has more than 17,000 followers on MySpace and is active in supporting local charities in her home state of Hawaii, especially those that help children.

Chapman speaks regularly about breaking the cycle of abuse and empowers those who live in dysfunctional families or relationships. She wants people to know they have a choice and she delivers her message well. To that end, Chapman has started the Proper Choice Foundation, a nonprofit that helps young people make good choices in life.

Chapman also is an expert on self-defense and teaches others how to stay safe and is a member of the Professional Bail Agents of the United States (PBUS). Recently, she was trained by the United States Training Center (USTC), formerly known as Blackwater, and became certified in custom pistol, self-defense, driving, and house clearing. This training is given by the best of the best in Special Forces.

Chapman is the author of the forthcoming book, Walking on Eggshells: The Lyssa Chapman Story (Simon & Schuster/Howard Books, Spring 2013) and is excited to bring her inspiring, untold story to the general public, and to encourage young women to advocate for themselves.
