Eyal Sherman, the son of a rabbi in upstate New York, was a happy-go-lucky toddler. At the age of four, however, he suffered a catastrophic stroke that left him unable to talk, walk, feed himself, or breathe on his own again.

Despite the damage to his body, the stroke left Eyal’s mind entirely intact. With the support of his family, he graduated middle school, high school and after nine years of classes, received a fine arts degree from Syracuse University in 2009.
