About the Author
Kristina O’Neill is the head of Sotheby’s Media and editor-in-chief of Sotheby’s Magazine. Previously, she was the editor-in-chief of WSJ. Magazine, executive editor at Harper’s Bazaar, and held editorial roles at New York magazine and Time Out New York. She serves on the board of the Swedish fashion brand Toteme and is a City Meals ambassador.
Her forthcoming book, coauthored with Laura Brown, All the Cool Girls Get Fired (out October 14, 2025), is an unfiltered, humorous, and empowering guide to rebuilding your career on your own terms. Drawing on their decades of experience in high-stakes leadership roles, Brown and O’Neill share personal insights, practical advice, and “I’ve been there” interviews with inspiring women to help readers navigate the emotional and professional aftermath of losing a job. Part roadmap, part mindset shift, the book offers strategies for self-care, networking, reinvention, and bouncing back with more confidence—and career mojo—than ever before.
As a speaker, O’Neill brings a fresh, unflinching perspective to conversations around career reinvention, leadership, and the realities of professional setbacks. A graduate of NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, O’Neill serves on the Gallatin Alumni Council. She lives in Brooklyn with her family.
