About the Author
Guy Winch, Ph.D, is an internationally renowned psychologist and bestselling author who advocates for integrating emotional health into our daily lives. Winch received his doctorate in clinical psychology from New York University and completed post-doctoral training at New York University Medical Center. He is a member of the American Psychological Association.
Winch’s fourth book, Mind Over Grind: How to Break Free When Work Hijacks Your Life will publish February 10, 2026. Winch seeks to provide a guide to combat many stresses that modern work imposes, explaining the dark side of being defined by work, how it intrudes on lives and unconsciously takes over thoughts, priorities, and coping mechanisms. He utilizes recent research and client stories to provide clear, practical strategies that enable readers to regain control of their lives, change their mindset, and achieve a work-life balance, ultimately excelling both at work and flourishing in their personal lives.
Winch’s three TED Talks have garnered over 35 million views. He is the author of three other science-based self-help books, which have been translated into 30 languages: Emotional First Aid, How to Fix a Broken Heart, and The Squeaky Wheel. His work has been covered by The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, NPR, and more. Winch also has a background in a stand-up comedy and is the co-host of the Ambie-nominated Dear Therapists podcast.
Winch has given talks and workshops worldwide, to US and UK governments, Unilever, Nutrien, Siemens, other multinationals, and startups in the mental health space such as Alma, Unmind, and Circles.
